Coventry Airport is proposing to invest in and introduce new technology to future-proof the airport. We are consulting on redefined flight paths, which should result in more accurate and consistent approaches.
The airport has drawn up its proposals in consultation with a wide range of aviation users to take account of their varied needs, and is now consulting formally on the proposals. We are inviting the local communities to view the proposals online at: http://www.coventryairport.co. uk/consultation
We are also holding a public drop in session between 11am and 7pm on 21st June 2017. More detail of where the session is being held and how to get there is available on the website.
The consultation period ends on 31st July 2017.
Coventry Airport will consider all responses to the consultation, and make any necessary changes before submitting a final scheme for consideration by the Civil Aviation Authority CAA.

The consultation period ends on 31st July 2017.
Volunteers helped wash down the subway recently preparing it for a much needed touch up.
If you would like to join in the fun, the next session is Saturday 27th May. Come any time between 10 o’clock and 1 o’clock.

This advise is issued after a report to the Village Facebook site of a dog attempting to attack another leaded dog while it was off its lead. The dog was eventually brought under control by its unknown owner.

Most villagers probably know that Ryton is fortunate to have three defibrillators – one in the Co-op (only accessible during opening hours), one at the Village Hall and one at the Malt Shovel (both available day and night).
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest. This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it’s an essential life saving step in the chain of survival.
The defibrillators are kept in locked cabinets. Having one of these nearby could make all the difference but our first step, in an emergency, has not changed:
In an emergency
• dial 999 immediately
• Then follow the instructions from the local ambulance service. If appropriate, you will be told how to access the nearest defibrillator and what to do.

With a report of number plate thefts in the area we have decided that we should make you aware of how you can ‘Secure your plates, and protect your identity’.
Your car number plate is unique and is linked to the registered keeper of the vehicle. If your plates are stolen and used, thieves are stealing your identity. Being a victim of number plate theft is serious and you need to report it. The plates could be used to commit criminal offences and the police could be knocking at your door. Criminals use stolen plates for a whole host of reasons and sometimes in very serious crimes.
To avoid becoming a victim of number plate theft, we recommend taking the following actions:
• Park in a well lit area and use car parks that are accredited to the Secure Car Park Scheme.
• Fit non-returnable screws to your number plate, or another fixing device such as an epoxy adhesive. These are available from car parts supply shops and some DIY stores. *please see attached picture
• Purchase theft resistant number plates from a reputable dealer and ensure they adhere to British Standard BSAU 145d.

A second village flower planter has been installed on Leamington Road.
This is a joint project between the Countryside and Website Action Groups after it was raised by residents in the Parish Plan. The Countryside Action Group will now plant the large box which will help add a welcoming entrance to the village. Signs promoting the village website will be added at a later date by the Website Action Group.
