Healthy Heart

Brookside Surgery will be giving a free educational presentation on heart health (focusing on high blood pressure and cholesterol) on Wednesday 28th June in the Village hall at 7:30pm.  It will last for about an hour, to be followed by questions. Tea and coffee will be provided. Everyone welcome. If you’re keen to go but can’t make the date the presentation will also take place at:

  • Bourton & Frankton village hall, Wednesday 10 May, 7:30pm
  • Marton village hall, Tuesday 27 June, 8:00pm
  • Long Itchington Community Centre, Wednesday 12 July, 7:30pm

Litter Pickers Wanted!

One hour litter picking sessions will take place here in the village between 10am and 11am on every last Saturday of the month. Starting at the village hall, equipment will be provided, you will only need suitable footwear.

Christmas Coffee Morning and Bazaar

Father Christmas at BazaarCome to the Christmas Coffee Morning and Bazaar at the Village Hall on Saturday 28th November from 10am to noon and buy many of the things you will need for Christmas.
There will be stalls, competitions, and refreshments including bacon batches and hot dogs.  Father Christmas will of course be paying a visit to speak to all the children.
We urgently need your gifts of bottles for the bottle stall: to Betty Page or Thelma Wells please. or leave the bottles in church to be collected.

WI Comedy Night (Ladies Only)

Come and be entertained by comedian and entertainer David St John with the WI (TWIRLS) at the Village Hall at 8pm (doors open 7:30pm) on Thursday 16th July. Tickets are £5, available in advance or on the door.
This is a ladies only event (sorry chaps) – please bring your own drinks – nibbles and giggles provided.

imageThe Coffee morning was well attended and everyone seemed to have enjoyed it. The Chocolates have been won, but keep coming back for all the latest news and events. Barbara Harris got the first prize in the big Raffle, congratulations.

Race Night at The Village Hall

Why not come along for a great night of fun with your friends and family on the 15th November and join us for another one of our popular race nights at the Village Hall. Whether its the dogs or the horses, place your bets and watch with anticipation.  Have you picked the winner?       Doors open at 7.30pm and the racing fun starts at 8pm.

Indoor Car Boot Sale

Car BootThe Village Hall will be holding an Indoor Car Boot Sale on Saturday 11th October 2014.  Doors will open to the public at 8am and close at 12noon.  The cost per “pitch” is £5 and the entrance fee will be 50p per person.  “Pitches” have to be booked in advance so if you would like to have a table then please contact Jo Macaulay on 07867 434361 or drop us an email via the village website. Baby Clinic in Village Hall

imageRyton-on-Dunsmore Baby Clinic is returning to the Village Hall and will be held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, 9.15am – 11.15am. Rugby Rural Children’s Centres are working in partnership with health services to support families with children under 5 years of age, living in the local community. The first session should be held on the 10th March.

A host of village activites are planned in the run up to Christmas, starting with the Church Christmas Coffee Morning, the annual Christmas Fayre, Santa’s Visit, including the opportunity to have breakfast with Santa, and a Christmas Play (The Snow Queen), so keep checking the Events for details.

BallBallsCome and enjoy all your favourite stalls at this year’s Christmas Coffee Morning, such as Home-Made Cakes, Pickles, Toys, Bric-a-Brac, Books, Games, Bottle Stall, a Raffle & much more in the Village Hall on Saturday 30th November from 10am to 12 noon.
There’ll also be coffee, tea, bacon rolls & hot-dogs and just for the children…Father Christmas.

Christmas Fayre

Join us in the Village Hall for the annual family Christmas Fayre on Saturday 7th December 2013 from 3:30pm to 6:00pm.
Santa will be paying a visit as well as all the usual stalls; Festive Christmas Gifts, Paint & Glaze, Tombola, Raffle, Carol Singing/Choir, Hot Food & Drink, Festive Games.

Santa’s Village Visit

Santa will once again be stopping off for a quick tour around the village on Thursday 5th December, start off at 6pm in Poplar Grove and ending up in Church Road & the Malt Shovel at 8pm. For a full list of his busy schedule see the published Event.

Booking is essential for this event (£7.50 per child and £5.00 per adult) and include toast, cereals, fruit juice, pancakes, tea/coffee, a gift for each child and a memorable photograph, which is delivered to you via email after the event. See the published Event for contact details.
